When it comes to cheese, check the ingredient list. As long as it is made up of "pasteurized milk", it is safe for consumption during pregnancy. This is because raw milk (and products made from raw milk) may carry disease-causing organisms, including a bacteria listeria monocytogenes, which seemed to be related to stillbirth, miscarriage or severe illness in newborn babies. Here are some soft cheese that may be made from raw milk that you should avoid: feta, Brie, Camembert, blue-veined cheese like Roquefort and Gorgonzola, and Mexican-style cheeses such as queso blanco, queso fresco, and panela. Also, to be on the safe side, it's best to avoid Mexican-style soft cheeses even if they're made from pasteurized milk. There have been some reports of contamination of these products during the cheese-making process. When I was pregnant, a colleague freaked out when someone passed me cheese during one of our company dinners. I didn't know then but pregnant women are advised not to eat any mould-ripened soft cheese such as brie, camembert, mould-ripened soft cheese made with goats' milk, and others with a similar rind. Soft blue-veined cheeses like Danish Blue should be avoided too. You should also avoid eating soft blue-veined cheeses, including: Soft cheeses like this are less acidic than hard cheeses and they contain more moisture. This means they can be an ideal environment for harmful bacteria, such as listeria, to grow in. Listeriosis infection is usually caused by eating food contaminated with listeria bacteria. Pregnant women are more at risk of getting listeriosis because of hormonal changes during pregnancy that weaken the immune system. Although infection with listeria is rare, it’s important to take special care during pregnancy. Even a mild form of the illness in a pregnant woman can cause miscarriage, stillbirth or severe illness in a newborn baby.

So soft cheese usually is prepared from unpasteurised milk for the microbs to work on the milk and help it churn into a cheese. These are bacterias that are harmful during pregnancy. Similarly, any raw vegetables or other food items that may have the chance of contamination, avoid!
