With today's technology, we aren't really separated. You can make a schedule for when you will see your husband online and establish a routine once he's abroad. My sister who's a flight attendant has a crazy schedule but she has roaming, and whenever she doesn't have a flight, she's just on Skype with my niece. They don't even talk sometimes, they just log in and hang out :) You can see what each other's doing (she's eating whike her daughter's doing an assignment) and they don't have to have a list of discussion for the day.

It's hard to deal with separation anxiety, but I have to agree that technology makes a big difference these days. I know it may not suffice but just think that you and your husband are doing this sacrifice for the future of your children. Some get used to it, some don't. While he is away, keep busy with the kids.

Separation anxiety with your hubby? It will takes probably few weeks time to get used to it. After you have established a routine with your kids, you will slowly adapt to his non existence. Lol Try use facetime daily if you miss him a lot.
